I came in about 2 weeks ago for a special they're having (12 days of fitness). I sincerely appreciate the special because unlike other fitness facilities and gyms that falsely advertise their "free" fitness program, FSF's 12 days of fitness truly is free. What I appreciate even more is that, when I cam in for my initial consultation, there was no attempt to sell me on a membership, and I was given the option to either talk about the program, or to actually go through the one of the classes that I had came in time for. I still have 6 more days to fulfill before the deal is done.I really enjoy the workouts because they are a great supplement to my current training routine (power and weight lifting 4x/week; cardio 3x/week). The workouts are challenging, but doable, and I leave each session feeling accomplished. I sincerely love the coaching staff. Being a personal trainer myself, I understand the importance of not only motivating clients to complete workouts, but also encouraging clients to push themselves. Every coach I've worked with is energetic, supportive, and understanding. They truly care about you and your body's capabilities prior to each workout. And though I've only been there for 6 days, I've learned that the coaches there are not only invested in the health, well-being, and success of each member that comes to these classes, they genuinely get to know the members who frequent the classes.I come in the morning because it works best with my schedule, but also because I know that the evening sessions will be a bit more crowded with people coming in after work. I enjoy the extremely small class to instructor ratio. The afternoon classes are not packed, and the class to instructor ratio is still good, I'm just more into being a part of tiny fitness classes. When I complete my 12 days, I will be looking to continue coming to FSF, as so long as it fits within my budget.Would DEFINITELY recommend FSF to anyone looking to get into better shape--especially in a group setting.
I was a member of First Step Fitness from January 2013 through 2016. When I left, I wanted to find something closer to my home. After spending two years at another gym, I made the decision to return to FSF in February of this year. Why would I do that when the other place was a mere five minute drive from my home and slightly less expensive? First Step Fitness is more than a place to workout - it is a close-knit family. Everyone is friendly and supportive, so it makes the tough workouts feel like an energizing lift versus a difficult chore. The trainers greet everyone and they even follow up if they havent seen you in a few weeks. The accountability is incredible because it is done in a positive way that motivates people to get the most out of their membership. Love this place!
DOPE SPOT! Large space that allows a multitude of training options! There is indoor and outdoor space for programming, and a variety of training equipment. The trainers are top notch and the owner Mike is the most down to earth and energetic person on the planet! Incredible energy at this place.
First step fitness is a fantastic place to get and stay in shape. Class based training builds a team like environment where everyone works together to engage and enhance the workout. Mixing cardio and strength training into a workout that is never the same twice is the way pro athletes are trained. This same approach at first step fitness has me in the best shape of my life. Give this place a try and you will keep going back.... Been over 6 years for me and I never leave without a smile on my face.
First step is FIRST RATE in every way. It all starts with the owners, Mike and Amanda, who are simply wonderful people. The atmosphere is lively and upbeat. The trainers are fun, knowledgeable and care. The amazing functional workouts are challenging and diverse. And, the members are personable and inclusive.
