This is a nice comfortable market. Produce is good, as well as pricing. The meat is not always good. They have a lot of Mexican necessities, mostly is overpriced. The deli carries Boars head products (high end quality no additive), great! Can find many great deals, while other items are ridiculously high priced. The staff are friendly and courteous. They are starting to carry more bulk items, happy! The owners of most Top Valu stores are mostly middle eastern decent. They all belong to the franchise Buy Low. That said, Mexican food products are not always inexpensive, for the most part 99c.is better for some items. Meat is not highest quality, however I've never been sick. The people around parking lot can be invasive to your privacy. Carts are all over the lot. Parking is ok, but the lanes are small and to make a left is difficult with cars parked in the way of your view to pull out. I love downtown Long Beach and I think this market is improving all the time! I consider it my neighbourhood nice store!
Sorry to say..this once busy, neighborhood market is going down. Crime and homelessness in close proximity isn't helping business. I used to love me to go there for means and vegetables especially. Service for s deteriorating and there are a few inexperienced personally(albeit hardworking). I hope they get a much needed renovation. The surrounding neighborhood needs a good market without having to walk a few blocks to find one.
One of the last neighborhood Grocery stores of the historical Wilmore District in downtown Long Beach. Friendly staff. Offers exclusive deals on select items every weekend(Fri,Sat,Sun) in addition to regular weekly sale. Excellent produce prices, premium "Boar's Head" brand cuts from the newly renovated deli. Money Gram transfer services and check cashing place(after mailing application/20$ purchase required)Also the best most tastiest tacos in long beach. 99 cents every Tuesday
Awesome, cheap produce section!!! Limited frozen food and bulk dry goods, but great prices on what they have. Very little seafood and the meat section is just okay. The store is clean and the staff is friendly. Overall this is a nice neighborhood market!
